WINNIPEG – Police in Winnipeg are expected to provide an update Wednesday on the discovery of the remains of up to four babies in a storage locker, which Global News plans to live stream when timing is confirmed.
Razmin Mansoub, the president of U-Haul Company of Central Canada, says staff taking inventory of a delinquent locker found the remains on Monday.
He says everyone at the company is deeply shocked and saddened by the discovery and will continue to co-operate with police.
Police say it’s not clear if the deaths were homicides, and the remains are so decomposed, it’s not known if there are three or four bodies.
Constable Eric Hofley says even if the deaths were not a result of foul play, charges could still be laid.
Hofley says police are remaining tight-lipped for now because they don’t want to say anything that could jeopardize the investigation.
He added that the remains don’t appear to be linked to any infants that have been reported missing.
